Cooling and storage planning for compact rackmount enclosures

Review the ventilation layout
Check where the selected chassis takes in and exhausts air, and consider the rack environment around it. Follow the chassis and component documentation when selecting cooling hardware and planning cable routing.
List the storage requirements
Record the number and type of drives and whether front access is important for the installation. Compare the exact model documentation with the intended storage arrangement, mounting hardware and connectors.
Allow room for servicing
Think about how a drive, cable or other component will be reached after the system is installed. Share these service requirements with the team when asking about enclosure options or documentation.
